Wolverine and the X-Men HeroClix

From wikipedia: "Wolverine and the X-Men is a comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The title features Wolverine in his role as the headmaster of Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, the students of the school, and various members of the mutant superhero team, the X-Men. The initial issues of Wolverine and the X-Men mainly featured the Jean Grey School and its faculty and students. The main antagonist in the book was a new Hellfire Club made up of homicidal genius children, led by Kade Kilgore."

Wait is DEATH'S HEAD in this set or no people are saying he is but its been rumor soo far on my end .

Posted by: 133 on 8/15/2013 2:45:57 AM
"and frankly mutant registration is a racial issue" oh? I think that's a stretch. There's a lot of other things that story can speak to. It relates well to that issue, but for it to be strictly a racial issue it would have to be "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

Posted by: bobby on 8/14/2013 6:38:21 PM
Also heard manufacturing defects pushed a lot of shipments back to the 21st and you might want to wait. I'm not sure what was wrong with the first run.

Posted by: Thimbes on 8/14/2013 10:00:04 AM
I think it would be very interesting to see what M would do in a different racial context. It changed the time of Spider-Man and Nick Fury. I think both are great examples of already exsiting characters that have seen a real change in how they are functioning as characters. I don't like either character, but I appreciate that they are exploring new territory and frankly mutant registration is a racial issue, it is very apt to stray from the whitewashed universe we are playing with. I'm a Cherokee myself and understand that it seems like an arbitrary issue, it is not. I don't think we need to push for it, but the character development behind some of the cosmic races really shows where they stopped short and wanted to make the characters more "accessible", the issue is that always means they are white. Nick Fury can look how ever he wants as long as its Samuel L. Don't forget most Nick Furys we see are robots, maybe he is white and really wants to be black. Lol. Megan Manhunter (albino pretending to be green) is a great example for a disassociated character, just the wrong universe...just my 2 cents.

Posted by: Thimbes on 8/14/2013 9:58:03 AM
Does anyone know when this set is supposed to be released? On one site it stated today, on another it stated the 18th, on another it stated the 21st. Does anyone know the right date?

Posted by: Shadow King on 8/14/2013 5:15:55 AM
In response to Saunderman from a black man: What the hell difference would it make either way. They are figures made of plastic with no political under or overtones connected in anyway that I can think of. Are you really one of those types of people? Wow. It's a friggin' game homie. Wake Up.

Posted by: PRINCE OF oRPHANS on 8/12/2013 4:48:40 PM
I'm a little preturbed and underwhealmed by who weak the Professor X/Magneto duo clix i.... I was expecting so much more for two of the most powerful mutants in the world.... BOOOOOO!

Posted by: Twisted Berserker on 8/12/2013 10:58:24 AM
If they make Spiral without making a Deadpool, Juggernaut, and Sabertooth piece I believe i may cry...

Posted by: King Coulter on 8/9/2013 12:10:08 PM
Anyone know the current release date on this? Aug 18?

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 8/8/2013 11:15:39 AM
Saunderman: " I'd be curious as to what the response would be if they took a black hero and changed his race."

It's happened in comics. Kestrel/John Wraith was correctly played by Will.i.am in the Wolvie Origins movie, but Ultimate John Wriath is a white William Stryker type guy.

Posted by: Kragnorak on 8/7/2013 12:40:14 PM
oooooo thank u THANK U i really wanted a new( SPIRAL ) my favorite in x-men i put her old clix on almost every team i made good old days ...

Posted by: 133 on 8/5/2013 3:53:02 PM
*sigh* I was really hoping that the Prime Deathlok was Luther Manning. So then at least more characters in the Marvel Universe can see the light of day as a clix. Oh well...

Posted by: Ho1ocau5t on 8/3/2013 10:37:51 PM
on the Shi'ar team base there are: Hussar,Gladiator,Starbolt,Manta,Smasher,Warstar and I don't remenber the other one, maybe Magik or Oracle.

Posted by: SaucyJack on 7/28/2013 10:53:29 AM
YES! That totally is Big Bertha! So close to a full roster for the GLA!

Posted by: SoupDragon on 7/26/2013 8:47:27 AM
Why can't M be white? Spidey has a black incarnation, as does Nick Fury. I'd be curious as to what the response would be if they took a black hero and changed his race.

Posted by: Saunderman on 7/22/2013 8:30:46 PM
Why is M white? Did she get attacked by Vampire Jubilee? Actually, that would be pretty funny. Unless that isn't the same M Jubilee always fought with and is actually the one she was friends with but oh god Generation X was so confusing.

Posted by: Pat on 7/22/2013 10:45:34 AM
Had to add, Figures . com now has more pics, including a pic o the Shiar Guard team base with 6 of the 7 members attached. I do not know the names, but it looks very cool.

Posted by: superfriend on 7/22/2013 10:09:03 AM
M - that 2nd starting line with HSS and SS is sweet. And if you push you get onto a click with the heal on a roll of 3 to 6. I would not be disappointed to pull this in a sealed event.

Posted by: superfriend on 7/22/2013 10:02:27 AM
The Shiar team base has sold me on wanting almost every team base in this XMen set. Can't wait to see who else we get on that base (besides Warstar who is already confirmed).

Posted by: superfriend on 7/22/2013 8:19:15 AM
Is that... Big Bertha? My Great Lakes Avengers team is nearing completion.

Posted by: YourMom on 7/16/2013 6:21:02 PM
Very impressed with the new Deathstrikes. Cool sculpt plus both versions are playable enough.
This set looks like it will have some cool commons/uncommons in it.

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 7/16/2013 4:51:34 PM
I'm always a sucker for the cheapest version of a fig I can get my hands on so HELLO MAIN SET LADY DEATHSTRIKE! I like her power placement for the sort of mid range targets she should face off against. Finger slash is great (especially against one target, not sure why the power bothers to add regular B/C/F!) and I've always been a fan of leap/climb with regen for run and heal (The grav feed one has too much mid dial regen and not enough at the end for me). The Exp version even manages the same average attack numbers. The only major downside for me is a lack of indomitable but is it worth 36 points? I like both but will probably play the cheaper one more often.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 7/16/2013 4:43:12 AM
Finally a Lady Deathstrike! And she's a common in the gravity feed thingy. I love blades with bonusses and she has lots of it!

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 7/12/2013 6:27:40 AM
I wish Havok still wore this costume in the comic.

Posted by: Dr. Silly on 7/5/2013 12:58:24 PM
Please, dear god, somebody tell me there's gonna be a Quentin Quire, and Broo figs. Maybe Kid Apocalypse too.
Please, please, please?

Posted by: Inkblot88 on 7/3/2013 10:31:17 PM
( Longshot ) is interesting , but I'm not totally sold on it .

Posted by: S.H.I.E.L.D. on 7/3/2013 3:22:02 PM
@Joe
I'm assuming it's because he's going to have a constant +1 from all of his hits being crits, meaning you can perplex up his damage by 3, and then gain an additional 1-2 from the die roll. So in theory, he has a printed 2, but can hit for up to 7.

Posted by: M on 7/3/2013 1:52:55 PM
How are you saying its going around the rule of 3? If he rolls 2 6's he does only 2 more damage not 4

Posted by: Joe on 7/2/2013 4:41:32 PM
It is kind of intresting how they worded his special power as well. By making all of his hits crits, it neatly sidesteps the rule of three when he attacks. With a smidge of perplex or other tech (utility belt, relics, etc) he can be face smashing for 6 clix with built in prob. Add in all the X-Men keyword love that is headed our way and he is a very tidy package for 75 points

Posted by: AndrewD on 7/1/2013 4:49:41 PM
The Heroclix website says it's due Aug. 18th, so more likely than not that it's going to be the Primer/GF set on July 31st.

Posted by: clixman135 on 7/1/2013 2:49:09 PM
I reeeeaaalllyy hope that the July 31st release date is accurate and not just for the gravity feed!

Posted by: poopdevil on 7/1/2013 1:12:51 PM
Wwwoooooowww!!! The best set ever!!! Just amazing the sculptures, the dials are very interesting and the theme: 90's as I have set on previous comments this is just a dream come true. New Mutants look great! I hope Cypher and Karma are included in the set as well, even if they are not part of the Team Base.

Posted by: JasonCR on 7/1/2013 12:57:25 PM
This just keeps getting better and better

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 7/1/2013 11:46:38 AM
X-Men where all ways just cool, but know I've changed my mind their AMAZING!!

Posted by: Poy on 7/1/2013 11:22:12 AM
Not a huge fan of Longshot, but that is an amazing trait. I'd definitely consider fielding this piece in a sealed event.

Posted by: superfriend on 7/1/2013 10:24:15 AM
The characters on the New Mutants Team base are Magik, Sunspot, Magma, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Moonstar, and Warlock (not to be confused with Adam Warlock).

Posted by: Jason Levine on 7/1/2013 8:21:46 AM
It appears to include Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Cannonball and who I assume to be Magma. I don't know who the other three are, though.

Posted by: Fang the Javatar on 7/1/2013 8:16:42 AM
New Mutants base: 7 pieces - if this follows patterns from Teen Titans (and the X-Men Blue base does) - means 3 figures with the base and one at each level of rarity. I've been able to pull Flash but do not have the JL team base. I have the Teen Titans base, but still need Starfire. Love that we are getting whole teams, but not sold on the Team base concept or pack out. Although it is better than the Batman set where 1/2 of the 6 outsiders were SRs.

@Mantiswarrior

He doesn't have any stop powers.

Posted by: Adamantium on 6/27/2013 1:30:29 PM
Uhhh.......I'm pretty sure that's not Sideatep on Vampire Jubilee as its a Pink defensive power. Pretty sure she has Invincible instead.

Posted by: ChronoFett on 6/26/2013 2:00:07 PM
Hello X-MAn! Hello Pink Powers! This is a beast of a dial with 2 STOP turning powers and the chance to throw up an anti-outwit barrier as soon as it appears. It is IMPOSSIBLE to KO this guy in less than 3 turns in 300 points even with a colossal ziran the tester death machine. (Unless someone out there can prove me wrong! Consider the gauntlet thrown!)

Posted by: Mantiswarrior on 6/25/2013 8:01:09 AM
The x-men blue strike force team base is pretty cool.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 6/24/2013 3:50:01 PM
LOL @ all you lazy people that can't be bothered to read. Maybe you guys should find a new game.

Posted by: Danny on 6/24/2013 2:55:56 PM
@Evex - I agree. The NML prize Poison Ivy piece has so much text that I cannot even be bothered to read it.

X-Man simplified:
1. X-Manis a wildcard. X-Man may copy TAs from opposing pieces.
2. X-Man can use TK at a default range of 12 instead of 8.
3. this is OK.
4. Barrier and ESD.

Posted by: superfriend on 6/24/2013 6:52:27 AM
Your kidding. 1 white power was good back when. Two was beast, 3 is overkill, and 4? Far too complicated. If you can't understand a power at a glance, its not worth it.

Posted by: Evex on 6/22/2013 5:56:41 PM
A lot of people I play with wanted a better Cyc. I imagine that one is pretty tough looking. Sweet. Him and the Age of X Mags would be pretty tough together. I kinda want to see Hope's dial though.

Posted by: bobby on 6/17/2013 7:41:34 PM
Wow. deapool would be cool to see. Deadpool corps would be even better. White lantern magneto lol.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 6/17/2013 4:39:56 PM
Look, its White Lantern Magneto!

Posted by: decoder on 6/16/2013 11:03:28 PM
@ The Le
I don't think that trait allows him to bring in new figures, just move your whole team (of PF characters) anywhere you like. Ultimate positioning piece in high points games.

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 6/15/2013 1:05:21 PM
WOW!! This cyclops looks amazing and the stats are awesome. Im gonna have throw a lot of money into this set. Wizkids take my money. Here take some more.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 6/15/2013 12:33:15 PM
All I can say is HELL YEAH!!! When is this series released August 7th? 14th? Yesterday is not soon enough!

Posted by: Prince of Orphans on 6/15/2013 8:12:43 AM
YES!!!! I think this Cyc is AMAZING! Definitely embodies the Phoenix force power he had, not over costed, and awesome synergy with Phoenix force AND X-men! LOVE IT! THIS is why I preordered 2 cases for WatX! :D

Posted by: Trevlor on 6/15/2013 4:58:56 AM
Off to a good start with the x-men set wk. Was a bit upset about the fear itself models not being available outside tourneys, but seeing magneto cheered me up. just lil bit tho.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 6/14/2013 12:21:31 PM
Definitely HOPE!

Posted by: Viking19 on 6/10/2013 9:59:42 AM
Hope or Rachel summers?

Posted by: Dare on 6/8/2013 2:07:03 PM
The hope model looks awesome. I wonder what her stats are.

Posted by: Pandab0mb on 6/7/2013 5:19:33 PM
Hope Summers...adopted daughter of Cable, and the former "Mutant Messiah", before her destiny was interrupted by Tony Stark, causing the Phoenix Five.

Posted by: Will on 6/7/2013 3:01:10 PM
I'm really hoping for the first time in history we can get a Jean Grey that doesn't suck! She is an Omega Level Mutant after all.

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 5/5/2013 8:43:16 AM
This set is looking better and better. I can't wait to see some dials, Also Colossus being my favorite I'm so pumped for the Fear Itslef version along with 2 from this set and a duo (Lets just hope the dials are all awesome and i can't decide which to use) :)

Posted by: Predator on 5/1/2013 10:23:57 AM
These look so good in terms of sculpt.

Posted by: superfriend on 4/29/2013 12:50:36 PM
Finally we get some news lol! These Heroclux look great. I can't wait to get them.

@Fang, thanks for the info.

Got a Havok now need a Polaris

Posted by: M on 4/29/2013 11:30:55 AM
Well since we know there will be X-Force Fantomex and Nightcrawler, they HAVE to have a X-Force team base. Make me happy WK! Don't disappoint!

Posted by: TechController on 4/29/2013 10:26:15 AM
@APOV1 I know, right? So many awesome series. Wizkids, stahp!

@Daniel The second page of this article says it is coming Summer 2013. Just in time for my birthday :D. Again, I hope these aren't as rare as Giant Size X-Men

Posted by: Fang the Javatar on 4/29/2013 10:07:22 AM
Also, cool danger room team base :)

Posted by: Fang the Javatar on 4/29/2013 10:03:51 AM
SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!! I hope these aren't as rare as the Giant Size X-Men series. I can finally get a modern Shadowcat and Gambit!!!!!!! (I hope they aren't rare D:)

Posted by: Fang the Javatar on 4/29/2013 10:03:09 AM
Team base has: (from left to right) Gambit, Beast, Rogue, Wolvie, Psylock, Jubilee, and Cyclops.
Gravity feed: Havok, Marvel Girl\Jean Grey, Shadowcat\kitty, and Wolvie.

Not sure when he started wearing that costume, but its been awhile.

Posted by: Andrewdrexler on 4/29/2013 9:30:52 AM
This is simply what I have always dreamed to see in heroclix since years ago when I started playing!!! I'm still in shok!!! YEAAAAAHH!!!

Posted by: JasonCR on 4/29/2013 9:00:27 AM
Your site should identify who the characters are, that pictures are not provided for, so those who are not that familiar with the characters can learn who they are. Is that Havok we are getting?

Posted by: Mazooka on 4/29/2013 8:32:49 AM
THOSE CHUMPS, LIKE THEY DONT ALREADY HAVE ENOUGH OF MY MONEY? NOW THEY MAKE IT SIMPLE TO PUT MY X-MEN TEAM OUT AND BATTLE A CLASSIC LINEUP. I CAN'T AFFORD THIS ANYMORE! ...BUT I WILL,.. CURSE ME I KNOW SOMEHOW I WILL.

Posted by: APOV1 on 4/29/2013 8:26:53 AM
Has there been any news on when this set comes out? I wonder if it will coincide with the new X-men cartoon? Last I heard, the new X-men cartoon was suppose to come out in Spring or early Summer. I am really looking forward to this set. I'm already saving my money lol. There are TONS of X-men and X-related characters I would love to see in this set. My favorite character (Rogue) has already been revealed yay! but I am looking forward to seeing which other characters will be chosen.

Posted by: Daniel on 2/8/2013 2:51:23 AM
@ste I think they need a cyclops that is 150 points and can change the battle

Posted by: M on 12/22/2012 3:37:29 PM
@Ste

I think its possible you've been over-estimating Wolverines abilities.

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 12/22/2012 10:16:53 AM
I could really go for an Exodus.

Posted by: bobby on 12/18/2012 5:35:44 PM
Two cases please. I love the 90's era of the X-men so I'm definitely exited for this set. That being said I would definitely like to see some low point value perplexes and a low value outwiter would also be nice. That being said some modern X-men like Colossus with Juggernauts armour would be nice, which is why Wiz kids needs to do an Avengers vs. X-men set next year.

Posted by: L on 12/18/2012 11:38:32 AM
@M whats wrong with GSX Cyclops? i've personally found him to be quite effective.
@ white pheonix, sorry but we need them to keep on making wolverines until they get him right.
we need a wolverine thats been given the respect that batman gets set after set.
personally i'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for a green ringed, 11 clicks of life, traited 1 click healing and batman#001 combat values. with B/C/F and alternating between flury and exploit weakness down the dial... did i mention he needs indom and plenty of stealth and charge too. oh and he should ignore all shape change except skrull TA rolls.
its sad indeed that a skrull wolvie actually plays closer to comic accurate than the genuine article does.

and @ nobody in particular. awesome finally rogue with the jacket!!! awesome!!! i know its not the first sculpt like this but lets face it... those old school paint apps destroyed the last one

Posted by: Ste on 12/17/2012 2:13:11 AM
If they do an Iceman make him good as he is an omega mutant.
Also a cyclops that is actully good.

Posted by: M on 12/9/2012 5:31:27 AM
Bishop!!! nuff said

Posted by: Tuksabro Iwamoto on 11/28/2012 4:45:11 PM
I'd love too see a complete silver and bronze age set with obscurities like son of Satan, tomb of Dracula, werewolf by night, red Sonja, Conan etc.

Posted by: White blade on 11/24/2012 1:02:54 AM
For heavens sake NO MORE WOLVERINE! And can we PLEASE have a Jean Grey that doesn't suck! I mean c'mon she's an omega level mutant darn it!

And perhaps a green Phoenix. I need one to go with my dark and white ones.

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 11/14/2012 8:03:18 PM
With any luck a havok figure

Posted by: M on 10/18/2012 11:27:28 PM
I agree with Devon on the Gambit and the Colossus with juggernauts armor and there is so much stuff they can do with iceman. But my wish list also includes the Phoenix five as chases and a wolverine that doesn’t suck, maybe a wolverine that is 125/150 points and has the GSX wolverine’s healing trait and a modified trait supper sense, just like dark Phoenix from the 10th anniversary set.

Posted by: rod 305 on 10/17/2012 9:05:39 AM
Please let there be an awesome Gambit, an Ice Man who is comic accurate(and possible two different sculpts of him) and a Colossus with Juggernauts armour!!!

Posted by: Devan on 10/16/2012 10:11:56 PM
My favorite costume of Rogue! If there will be more Brotherhood and Hellfire Club here, I want to get Avalanche, Selene, Donald Pierce and Sebastian Shaw. :)

Posted by: IanP29 on 10/13/2012 1:04:42 PM
I agree with Jason CR. I love the 90's era X-men. I am definitely going to have to get this set. Rogue is my favorite Marvel character. I am so glad to get another Rogue Heroclix.

Posted by: Daniel on 10/12/2012 2:00:01 PM
Not too keen on another xmen set (this game has too much Wolverine as it is), but Excalibur stuff sounds cool. Spiral and Deathstrike would be nice though.

Posted by: annoyinglizardvoice on 10/10/2012 8:19:53 PM
This is a dream come true! My favorite X-Men age is the 90's and Jim Lee's art! Can't wait for this! I hope to see a Rictor, Feral, Gateway, another Omega Red and Boom Boom, and of course a new Gambit, Havok, Polaris and Jubilee (all with 90's customes)Storm has not been seen in clix with Jim Lee's custome, that would be great to see. Can't wait for this. This 2013 will be for sure a great year for clix!

Posted by: Jason CR on 10/10/2012 9:41:16 AM
60+ figures? That a pretty big set for Modern Age. Looks like Jim Lee era X-Men will be represented(which is great as now I've new figures to rebase the X-Men Tab App figures with when I get them). Also perhaps more Excalibur team members (with hopefully new verisons of Captain Britain, Meggan, & Rachel Summers Phoenix). A new Toad, Avalanche, & Spiral would be good for some BoEM/Freedom Force goodness.

Posted by: phep on 10/9/2012 8:29:38 PM
Mmm, can't wait for more options to use with Mr.Sinister and Professor Xavier!

That said, so curious about the chases. Part of me wants to think The Phoenix Five will have something to do with it; kinda like what DC did with their White Lanterns.

Honestly, just hoping for a new Magik! Been forever since we had her as a clix!

Posted by: Mutant Rarity on 10/9/2012 9:42:41 AM
Will we get a Toad? That's the only question that matters. Well that and "Will any sets actually reach the UK because this is an X set and they're highly in demand?" Seriously I have like 4 GSX figures, at all, ever!!! Neither of my local stores were able to get hold of any boosters and even my ever reliable web store only had 3 figures as singles.
