Your Comments:
@ Daniel
That's not a bad question, but no you don't have to start with a rookie to play a veteran character. It's simply a way to play a higher point value character at a lower point value. And I for one think it's a better mechanic then Alter Ego.

Posted by: TheYellowFear on 10/23/2012 11:52:42 PM
Sorry for this question, but I'm new. Can I start off with a promotion character instead of using someone then promoting him?

Posted by: Daniel on 10/22/2012 7:24:21 PM
That Nightwing is crazy good! Improved Movement combines with Charge (to answer @phep's question) and he can be on any team & not break theme! Great Stats, Leadership on every Click, Wild Card & Batman Family Team Ability! The Ultimate Team Captain!

Posted by: The Dark Knight on 9/8/2012 9:46:20 AM
Holy gee willikers Batman!!!

That 52 pts. Robin is pretty good (possibly able to do 6 clicks of damage with 2 successful consecutive attacks with the ability to enhance other figures range attacks while hiding in hindering terrain = freakin' awesome). The new Nightwing is interesting(I wonder if my opponents would be ok with him leading a Shadowpact team?). Still wondering if Improvement movement can be used in conjunction with other powers (like Charge).

@ Captain Awesome I believe if you have Robin in the team build & Nightwing on the side for promotion purposes you would present both when you reveal your force(since Nightwing is esentially a sidebar figure in the same ways as AEs are) and the controlling player would choose the keyword prior to the game starting in the event Robin is promoted to Nightwing. At least that's how I would rule it if my players asked.

Posted by: phep on 9/7/2012 10:26:01 PM
I think that robin just became my most wanted character from this set. 3 damage for Robin! Plus Enhancement! Plus Stealth and Willpower!

I'm confused though on how Nightwing's trait would work if you use robin to promote to him. Because his trait says "when you reveal your force." But when you reveal your force Nightwing isn't on it. Would you just choose a keyword then anyway and nothing happens if you never promote to him?

Posted by: Captain Awesome on 9/7/2012 10:57:12 AM
All i have to say is there had better be a Captain Atom in this set or I will be quite distraught! He needs to be redone!

Posted by: theo on 9/4/2012 3:19:23 AM
@white Phoenix of the crown
Read the defense power... Yes it penetrating psychic blast will ignore the impervious but not the part about stopping the dial when the power Is revealed.

Posted by: Hamhawk9100 on 9/3/2012 10:56:58 PM
About the 350 point Brainiac. Can psychic blast cut through that defense power?

Posted by: white phoenix of the crown on 9/3/2012 8:33:39 AM
Sorry the marvel pictures it was late I was tired

Posted by: a on 9/2/2012 1:06:06 PM
Since they say there are 3 chases in both 10th anniversary sets. I've done some searching if you look at the DC box you will see Spiderman ripping off his uniform with a black one underneath also it looks like wolverine is wearing a black suit. I've talked to some friends and they did not confirm but also did not deny. It might just be nothing or maybe not

Posted by: adam on 9/2/2012 3:30:43 AM
Thats because it is the Flash from the Justice League Show, It is Wally West. The first Kid Flash who then took on the title of Flash After Barry Allen past. (source heroclix.com)

Posted by: dglover on 9/1/2012 10:46:06 AM
The 86 pts. Golden Age Flash seems like a throwback to the Hypertime one but with better stats (with the exception of movement) and having the JSA team ability.

The new Barry Allen Flash seems like an upgraded version of the one in Justice League set (the flash with the starro mind control starfish on it's head). I concur with The High School Teacher that the Flash does look like the version from the 90's TV show from that angle.

Posted by: phep on 8/31/2012 10:15:03 PM
Would of been nice if Jay had some willpower or toughness. But I get what there doing so no big deal

Posted by: adam on 8/31/2012 5:58:00 PM
The promoted Flash reminds me of the Flash from the 90's TV show. Also, that charge with Exploit weakness will be troublesome.

Posted by: The High School Teacher on 8/31/2012 3:08:37 PM
Regeneration equals 9 Lives!!!

Posted by: Maelstrom2005 on 8/24/2012 8:31:59 PM
I like the new catwoman's SP. Another relic/resource buster. Would work good together with the new 10th anniversary Ironman.

Posted by: phep on 8/24/2012 7:48:43 PM
"1) Without running shot triple EE isn't as effective at range. He'll need 2 cosecutive actions (which will result in push damage and assuming he's doesn't have a taxi)"

This was missing this part which got deleted for the first point:

Unless the opposing player was dumb enough to move within his range.
Also Sharpshooter alone isn't enough (most teams pack stealth) so the chances of getting triple EE is very situational without correct postioning.

Posted by: phep on 8/14/2012 10:56:42 PM
It looks like we are looking at this from two different POVs. My issues with the Ted Kord Beetle is this.

1) Without running shot triple EE isn't as effective at range. He'll need 2 cosecutive actions (which will result in push damage and assuming he's doesn't have a taxi).

2) Figures with damage reducers can shut him down by getting into base contact (most figures have a base movement of 8). If he attempts to shoot using EE (tempting if one or two of the targets in question don't have any defensive powers that reduce/avoid damage) he'll more likely hurt himself more than he will the opponent if this happen. With incapacitate that would not happen and it could potentially open up counter attack opportunities if the targets have to clear for a turn.

Again he's an ok figure 55 pts. but it's seriously lacking in terms of dial design to emulate the actual Ted Kord from the comics.

Posted by: phep on 8/14/2012 10:50:49 PM
he doesn't have to be based for the sharpshooter to be good. shooting thru your first target to hit the taxi behind it is just as fun, especially for multi ee hits.

Posted by: rick leo on 8/14/2012 9:07:08 AM
@rick leo

triple EE with Sharpshooter is good. However you don't want to be doing that in base contact with 3 opposing figures, right (with a 17 DV and only toughness for protection)? So again I'd rather him start with triple Incap instead with is much more useful against a whole slew of defensive powers (particularly thoe figures with damage reduction powers)and won't hurt Ted Kord to use it in adjacency. ;-)

Posted by: phep on 8/14/2012 1:02:21 AM
"Ted Kord is kinda "meh". He should have started off with Incapacitate instead of Energy Explosion"

triple target EE with sharpshooter for 55 points. i think you left out the good parts....

Posted by: rick leo on 8/13/2012 12:34:10 PM
Boue Beetle had the potential for 2 battlefield promotions as Ted Kord was not the first but Second BB (First being Dan Garrett who passed the name/title to Ted Kord

@Licensedhero; it's not the same character, much like Green Lantern its Golden Age passing to Silver/Mordern age.
Golden Age Lex origionaly had Red Hair and later became the Luthor of Earth 2 before Crisis on Infinite Earths (during which E2 Luthor gets killed by Brainiac) Like Earth 2 Superman E2 Luthor got erased from Post Crisis history

Posted by: Grim on 8/10/2012 8:16:56 PM
I'm underwhelmed with the Blue Beetle previews.

Ted Kord is kinda "meh". He should have started off with Incapacitate instead of Energy Explosion. Also no perplex to show off his genius intellect. Very poorly designed IMO.

As for the Jaime Reyes version I don't understand why he would get the Mystics TA (the Scarab is a technological creation of the Reach)and not the Teen Titans TA (of which he was an actual member of ). Also I would have figured this Blue Beetle would start ramping up in powers (both offensively and defensively) and damage as his dial clicks down to show off the Scarab's increasing array of potent weaponry and aggresive tendencies.

Sorry but this has FAIL written all over it.

Posted by: phep on 8/10/2012 7:10:41 PM
Who but Lex Luthor could go bald in the middle of a fight? Oh I guess Brainiac kinda does too

Posted by: Licensedhero on 8/7/2012 6:18:35 PM
Ok luthor now looks like it is a swap out of earth 2/golden age luthor for earth 1/silver/mordern age luthor. Still a swap for a different character rather than promoting the same one.

Posted by: grim on 7/27/2012 3:32:59 PM
i see the potential for a really really good 300 point team built around lexy there.

his trait is only active at the 160 point level, btw. it's covered up by the graphics.

Posted by: rick leo on 7/27/2012 1:01:53 PM
ILLUMINATI LEX LUTHOR o_0

Posted by: @djrobertlamont on 7/27/2012 9:57:29 AM
I agree with Grim. The Battlefield Promotion doesn't make sense with Alan Scott. It would have made more sense if it was Abin Sur.

Posted by: Nafets920 on 7/27/2012 9:07:40 AM
I guess the odds of Captain Marvel being in this set are slim/none.

Posted by: Rockofeternity on 7/23/2012 10:47:27 PM
while I don't really get the need to use Battlefield Promotion for the Green Lanterns (doesn't make sense since they are not the same character)I do like this new idea for Hal's powers, particulary attacking through Barrier markers as if they were constructs. just add the 'Construct' card to him and force his victims to have to break away.

Posted by: Grim on 7/22/2012 8:24:17 PM
his name is spelt "ALAN" not "Allen"

Posted by: refrusdraob on 7/20/2012 3:36:06 PM
I don't know if everyone has heard about the events in Colorado at the midnight premier of batman that left 12 dead and many injured. But I hope all of our thoughts and prayers will be with the families and friends that lost someone. And I hope everyone takes the time to love and appreciate each other that much more.

Posted by: Adam on 7/20/2012 3:30:42 PM
Hal's power supplied by the removable object is MUCH better than previous versions. Being a Trait means it is immediately available, and the free close combat can be used immediately after the removable object is attached. This allows Hal a 9-range close combat attack which can target a character using Stealth, AND to characters who occupies squares which are not even in LOF from Hal. Characters hiding behind blocking terrain or behind walls can be attacked! Very cool, this fig is now one of my main Wants from the DC10 set!

Posted by: Hodak on 7/20/2012 11:00:03 AM
aaaaand removable objects make their way into DC, fittingly with GL who makes his own objects

clever use of barrier as an attack and his first click is very reminiscent of blackest night GL

Posted by: Baron Impossible on 7/20/2012 10:50:16 AM
Much fanlove for all the thrones, they look great on the pieces so far in this set and I think a Brainiac alien seat will be awesome for all sorts of modifying.

Posted by: bobby on 7/16/2012 7:34:06 PM
@ Ste: In the Brightest Day JLA/JSA cross-over, the Alan Scott GL 'morphed' into an avatar of sorts, for the Starheart (a 'Parallax' moment, if you will, but consistent with Alan Scott's GL mythos). A sculpt like that could be BAD-@SS...

Posted by: MEsch on 7/16/2012 12:33:14 PM
Lex Luthor!!!

Who is the guy in red on the throne? Am not familiar with him.

Posted by: lordoracle on 7/14/2012 6:43:52 AM
while i'm loving these new promotion mechanics. seeing green lantern upgrade is gonna seriously hurt my powers of suspension of belief...
i mean yeah its a strech for hulk to go from 1st appearence to world breaker in the course of a battle, but seeing GL morph into an entirely different person is gonna be tough for me to swallow.

who am i kidding that is probably a more likely scenario in a comic book these days lol

@Baron_Impossible: Oh..... I see it now. That makes me sad. I LOVED the old Plastic Man mailbox sculpt... :(

Posted by: The Le on 7/13/2012 10:29:46 AM
That's not plastic man, it's blue beetle (ted kord) leaping over the mailbox

even if it were to be plastic man, he can't change his colors from red w/black & yellow stripes

the red guy in the chair is GA lex luthor btw

Yeah , he looks good, I guess. But I'm really getting tired of these mini diorama/statue figures.

HOLY CRAP!!!!Braniac in throne is almost godly!!!!

Posted by: alex on 6/14/2012 7:52:40 AM
um not true avengers/jl team abilities only let a characer move as the extra action not attack so the trait would still hurt them

Posted by: @@CaronoFett on 6/3/2012 4:49:52 PM
I'm never super excited about characters I already have either when there are still ones I want.

Of course, I say that but then I want the Future Foundation outfits that are coming soon as well as the Thing in a trenchcoat.

So really I just want MORE MORE MORE clix :b

Posted by: Kragnorak on 5/31/2012 7:57:22 PM
@x. What? No, you're overthinking it. Just subtract one action from your opponent. Simple. If there's 4 actions for each turn, your opponent can only do 3 actions. And so on.... The trait would be useless against Avengers and JL team abilities I assume.

Posted by: @ChronoFett on 5/31/2012 7:59:21 AM
WOW! Were getting a treat from DC... some powerhouses as UNCOMMONS! I wouldn't have expected less! DC Nation!

Posted by: Ianator73 on 5/30/2012 9:26:37 PM
So I can just turn my 160 point Brainiac into a 350 point monster? Of course, it won't be easy to rack up Promotion Tokens and keep on your first/early clicks, but if you do, that'd be incredible! Is there anything that keeps the new piece from being healed past the click it started on, like AE pieces? I hope not

Posted by: NeoDaxamite64 on 5/30/2012 3:05:16 PM
i'm a bit confused about how that`impossible to plan against`trait works out i mean if it subtracts the action total of all opposing characters by one then will that mean you have to have two characters and leadership?

I am just sick and tired of people complaining about a game that we all love. He doesn't have to buy any if he doesn't want to. Why complain about it?

Really a teenager?

I'm excited for this. I saw previews of some sculpts from this set from con slide photos. I believe this may be the set with the best sculpts ever. So far I've seen 2 Catwoman, 1 Lex and 1 Superman. More previews :)

really? i thought this was going to have old dials and updates to them of "classic" figures that were used alot back in the day... Wizkids, you've done it again....

Posted by: rick on 5/18/2012 8:54:54 AM
Agreed- Catwoman is WAY overdue

Posted by: licensedhero on 5/18/2012 7:28:53 AM
I do like the Orange Lantern Lex, and will be using him in my DC Adventures Campaign, but I've really wanted a new Lex in battlesuit piece for awhile now. The Catwoman though is one piece I've been wanting for a long while now. I was very disappointed she didn't show up in 75th.

Posted by: Javasquirrel on 5/18/2012 4:18:23 AM
I was just thinking a new catwoman would be
dandy. The Lex I'm not overwhelmed by, as
the Orange Lantern version is pretty suited up and looks all cool and translucent, but maybe it'll have an awesome dial.

Lancelot, I feel your weariness too. I'm glad your valid comment isn't being hammered by a teenager who's not yet learned to Uncaps lock.

Hey Lancelot NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

I, on the other hand look forward to this awesome new set.
