ClixCraves vol. 2ClixCraves is a new series of articles discussing HeroClix figures we want to see in the future. Our selection criteria can be new never-before-seen figures, or it could be a request for remakes of old figures.

With the popular ClixCraves vol 1 under our belt, we're back with Five DC HeroClix Figures We Want Remade.

DC's had a pretty good run in HeroClix form the last few years, but there's definitely a few we'd like remade. Of course there's some figures that should never be remade, but that's a story for another time.

Let's kick things off with...

KC GREEN LANTERN

HeroClix World KC Green LanternMaking his only appearance DC Legacy HeroClix, this version of Green Lantern is notable for having a very high defense value with a full dial of Willpower, but no damage reducers! If this doesn't scream "I want to be remade," then I don't know what does. Of course, Legacy came out at a time before the Indomitable or Special Powers existed, but c'mon... no damage reducers?

Well the first thing this remake needs is the Indomitable ability, granting it free Willpower, which will open up it's defensive slot for single click of Impervious and the rest filled with whatever. As for the sculpt, I am perfectly fine with WK using the original sculpt (with a slight modification to the cape to make it different). As for the special power, how about this...?

HeroClix Special PowerI Am One With The Battery: Damage dealt by this Green Lantern cannot be reduced below one. If Green Lantern scores a critical hit when making a close combat attack, damage dealt is increased by +2 rather than +1.

I know you are looking for DC but i think if someone can mention TMNT than a G1 Transformers Heroclix set is a no-brainer as well as Beastwars time to relive the past...

@Ste
I'm glad someone uses themed teams besides me;

Black Bolt is the mosy powerful hero ever; I really think the only people who might possibly be able to hurt him are Professor X, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, and Galactus. (No, I don't think Hulk stands a chance against him. WWHulk?? Grrrrrrrr...@$!#*%^&!!*)

Posted by: Owlman166 on 10/18/2010 10:50:08 AM
Medics only have a place for me in non-heroic teams, such as Cops and criminals.
and would only use a con artist in majority thug squads, hay women can be thugs too! (you should see what hey are like outside my local pub on a fri & sat night), other than this i pretty much void using them.

only other examples of me using medics is with say a themed ultimates team and those would only be included if i also had the points for a few riot police or shield agents. face it when the ultimates went on the warpath they did so with one hell of a military auntorage.

these are the only exceptable examples of Medics for me. dont get me wrong tho, i like having the models i just feel they get way to over exploited.

back on topic; isnt Blackbolt amazing!!!

No seriously, i'd love to see some black and white lantern figs that arnt chases... i personnaly only care about this from a stand point that i know how everyone wants them, and feel very sorry for them... i dont actually want them myself

Posted by: Ste on 10/18/2010 1:28:06 AM
Yeah, don't you just hate it when you see your opponent fielding multiple "cheap characters?" My buddy fielded 2 prob. ability controllers, 2 medics, and one heavy hitter one time. (I forget who.) I was like, dude, use a theme team for once, or something! Quit usin' the frickin medics!! I don't know about you, but Con Artists, and Medics were the worst thing for the game. I understand one medic, but some people just go crazy on them. Anyhow, thanks for commenting on Black Bolt. Hope they make a new one soon.

Owlman out.

oh and by the way its brilliant tactician that i use on Mr Fantastic(just looked it up), the one from justice League that allows for it to be used with Key words aswell as team symbols

Posted by: Ste on 10/16/2010 11:41:06 PM
1 last point, and this one is off topic even for the off topic...

destiny/scarlet witch comment i made was in no way a refection of my play style. i dont condone the use of multiple characters with the same name unless they are generics. this was a reference to a game i once played against complete strangers at a casual play event and watched with contempt as each fielded no less than 3 yellow level destinys with a chase tent pole and just went reroll crazy... honestly where is the flavour!!! coz all i taste is cheese!

in spite of that i did play quite well and finished 2nd out of the 4 people involved, but it did lead to me and a friend having the house rule that you could have no more than 1 prob control reroll in any one persons turn. this works really well even with multiple prob users as they can still be used to creat bubbles of effect or have as a back ups

Anyway thats enough of that, back to the main point of this article... isnt Blackbolt awesome!!! LOL

Posted by: Ste on 10/16/2010 11:11:27 PM
@ Owlman,
no i dont, simply for the fact that as you stated he can be a little glass jawed and i dont want to cause his downfall myself by putting extra clixs of damage on him and possibly taking him off Pulsewave. best stratagy i have for him involves ironman making a whole in a wall for him to dash through into the heart of my enermy with all my perplexes(and thats one hell of a lot in an illuminati team) going on either his Attack, range or movement. mostly the latter two to increase his area of effect.
also i generally keep someone within LOS that hasnt activated in order to take advantage of themed team prob, as his attack could very well be the most important one of the game. if need be push him on the following turn to do it again, but generally its best to do it when you know your opponent is going to be forced to clear the following turn.

only feat i generally make space in the team for is master tactician (or at least i think it is, the one that if you have perplex & outwit on the same charcter they can use perplex on everyone who shares a key word within range 10 & LOS) on Mr Fantastic. normally i just go "haha! +2 defence on everyone" making your beloved Blackbolt DV19 or 20 with cover.

All in all they are a very slick team even tho they are averagely outnumbered by about 3-1, and hordes generally being better than smaller elite teams in this game...

Luck wise you have been pretty sucky with him, that said i'd be looking into some prob control if it keeps up. nothing more heart breaking for a great commander than to fall short on bad luck. some would argue that a great commander would not rely on luck, and i would answer back with "and how many destinys/old scarlet witches to you averagely field then?"

In WWH Blackbolt hit him with the mother of all Sonic screams that tore great chuncks out of the moon, but the Hulk was at the maddest level he'd ever reached and just advanced right through it untill he was able to reach and grab Blackbolt

@ Ste

Sinister was extremely underpowered. Next to Hypertime and Icons, I'd say it was the worst set. (Although Collateral Damage was pretty bad, too. Kind of ironic that my favorite Heroclix character (Owlman) came from CD!) And I absolutely agree that he was the BEST figure in Sinister. (Nick Fury was awesome too, though.) I still respect his Nova-Blast power, with Perplex and ICWO, by the way, making him pretty lethal, but for me, he could be more dangerous than he is. He's not bad by anymeans, but hey, I guess my die rolls suck most of the time. I mean, one time I tried to Nova Blast 3 figs, with, with one 16 and two 17 defense's. I rolled 4, + 10w/Perplex = 15. 15! And thats not the only time, either. But I'd have to say the main problem is he's way to glass-jawed. Other than that, with a feat or two, he can hold his own, I guess. I don't know if you're interested in the old comics or not, but in the 1970's issues, he saved the entire inhumans team from Hulk. And that was the SECOND time he saved their rear from him. I haven't read WWH, but I do know he gets his a** kicked. I could have sworn he was a skrull imposter at the time. Was it the real Black Bolt? If he was, then in my oppinion, Black Bolt's beaten the Hulk twice. Why can't he do it again? I mean, all he has to do is whisper. But that's just my view. I admit, i'm biased, since Black Bolt is my favorite hero.

P.S. This might be a dumb question, but you said Black Bolt's your main attacker in 1,100 point games. Do you use Nova Blast on him?

Posted by: Owlman166 on 10/15/2010 8:56:42 PM
@ Owlman

Fair enough, only things i've read are the illuminati stuff and the a** kicking he took at the beginning of WWH so maybe i've underestimated him. Compaired to the rest of the set (sinister) he's one of the better more playable pieces in it, it was a seriously under powered set, defence 17 at the time was pretty much as high as it got, and defend helped the rest of your team out. could he do with an update, sure but the old one is still usable and quite competitive when used right with the correct support, like all tent poles supporting him is the key to success

as for 1,100 point games, if your using the illuminati it lasts about as long as a 300-400pt game, you either floor your oponent or he kicks the stuffing out of you, either way its all over pretty quickly.

The way the game appears to be going, with the inclusion of so many collosals in the upcoming Marvel set, i'm pretty sure that game points averages are gonna increase soon and characters around the 150pt mark will no longer be your primary attacker.

I know a lot of what i said appears that im agreeing with you and to some degree i am. The point im trying to get across is that when i'm playing these 1,100 point games with the likes of iron man and namor in the mix, he is still the primary attacker in the team over both of these, and that to me is deserving of some serious respect, even more so because he is from a very old and majorly under powered set

Posted by: Ste on 10/15/2010 7:42:02 PM
@STE:

Of course the price will go up. That's fine by me! He should cost AT LEAST 200 points. Also, I do not believe Black Bolt was that great. He wasn't comic accurate at all. (With the exception of Pulse Wave and Pscychic Blastw/10 range.)He has a 17 defense with NO damage reducers. (Not to mention his attack drops way too fast.) Have you ever read some of the Inhumans comics? He's incredibly tough! He's gone toe to toe with Hulk, and Thor, and come out on top! (I would really like to sit in on a Heroclix meeting, and find out who the hec is making some of these crappy design decisions! LOL! ) Late dial Invulnerability is okay, but he needs it up front, and with an 18 or 17 defense value, not 14/15. True, Perplex up front w/RS and Pulse Wave does make him fairly dangerous, but his numbers should be much higher. For his first click, I need to spend points on In Contact w/Oracle, Nova Blast, and Protected. That jacks his price up to 194 points! He's WAY too glass jawed for that kind of investment. I would like to use him as a primary attacker in 300-400 point teams, dude. Not 1,100. That's to long of a game for me man, as well as my friends. As he stands right now, that's probabely not going to happen. All he really needs is a 12 range, and an opening click of Invulnerability, with at least an 11 atack. (Preferably a 12 attack.)What's so bad about that? Moreover, If you're having a 1,100 point team, his playability WONT MATTER. Lets say NECA remakes him, and his price goes up to 266 points. In a 400 point game, you have 134 points left over. You can add Mr. Fantastic for 100 points, or maybe Professor X from Fantastic Forces. (Best fig from the set, by the way.) Even at his current point value, he costs a lot. For a 400 point team, you could have Black Bolt and one other Illuminati member, plus a feat or two. So either way, he can be difficult to play. Plus, with a 12 AV, with Pulse Wave, and at least 4-5 starting damage, he'll be a beast for 300-400 pont games. W

@ Owlman166, and sorry to keep this slightly off topic conversation alive but...

The Sinister Blackbolt is great, as for that matter is anyone with a decent attack value with running shot & Pulsewave.

Have played an Illuminati team a couple of times and have won all games involving them. with the sheer amount of perplex that team throws around the board you never have to worry about poor combat values. In one game with him i inflicted over 30 clicks of damage with him before he went down, given this was against a horde stealth army in a 1,100 pt game but with the support of the rest of the Illuminati backing him up he is an absolute beast.

Yes generally he will be the first to die, but this is simply down to the fact that he is extremely dangerous and has to generally get into charge range of the enemy to be effective, and only a fool would let someone as lethal as him survive at such close proximity for any length of time

with the kind of power levels your asking for he'll easily cost 100pts more than the existing one, and as a knock on effect reduce the overall playability of the Illuminati as a team

Posted by: Ste on 10/14/2010 7:47:04 PM
I wouldn't say he sucked; You could put Nova-Blast on him, and scare the crap out of your opponent. Just that alone would make a player afraid to get to close. Plus, you could give him ICWO to beef up his attack slightly. Three things could make him better, though:

1. Higher defense values with a few damage reducers; I played him about 5 times a couple years ago, and he was KO'ed 4 out of those 5 games. He's too glassed-jawed! I'm thinking a starting click of 18/17/17, with 3 clicks of Invulnerability, followed by a couple of Toughness.
2. A special power allowing Psychic Blast/Pulse Wave together, with at LEAST one click of a 12 attack. AT LEAST.
3. A 12 range. If NECA fails with everything else, I at least want to see a 12 range with Pulse Wave somewhere on his dial. (And 1 click of 5 or 6 damage so I have a shot at using Nova-Blast; that would be nice, too.)

My $0.02

I was just thinking about a figure that needs to be remade. Im currently trying to build a Illuminati team, and there is no type 2 Black Bolt, I am really hoping for an Inhumans release or something. because Black Bolt is Essential... they need to make him better though. the Sinister one kinda sucked.

Posted by: TheFreestyleMonk on 10/8/2010 7:18:50 AM
We just had a Jay Garrick Flash made. I doubt they'll make another. I thought the old Captain Cold was fairly decent; 'course, if you're a fan...
I know this a DC set coming out, but we have got to have another Black Bolt. I have the old one, who was good, no question, (Running + Pusle Wave/Perplex) but a measely 17 defense? Come on! Black Bolt can totally annhiliate anyone with a single whisper. He can easily go toe to toe with Thor, or any other super hero/villian, for that matter! I would like to see a version where he is royally pissed off. THAT would be sweet; And can we please give him a 12 range, NECA?? With 3 targets? Ok, that might be a little much, but still...
He is my favorite super hero, after all. (With Batman coming in 2nd.)

P.S. I agree with japete61, we could use another playable Cyclops, and/or Sabretooth. (Preferabely with Flurry/BCF.)

Posted by: Owlman166 on 10/7/2010 9:51:05 PM
If they are gonna do any of the KC stuff again they should stick them in a Watchman style collectors set, hell they should do the same with age of apocalypes for marvel while they are at it.

Character wise that i feel should be made/remade
Dick Greyson bats to go with the Damien robin
Joker & Harley duo
a new Sinestro (sinestro corps) the last one is imposible to get a hold of!
New Huntress
New Cat Woman
New Spoiler
and yeah pretty much the only thing i like about DC is Batman

Posted by: Ste on 10/6/2010 8:19:28 PM
bat sentry yes but green lantern h e l l s nah

Posted by: the man on 10/6/2010 1:50:23 PM
No KC remake please. The original is still a beast to this day. The Bat Sentry, sure. MAYBE a reasonable Batman. But otherwise I'd be content for no more KC's...or one's we've not gotten yet.

Agree with Captain Cold and Jay Garrick.

Posted by: JDKenada on 10/6/2010 12:10:30 PM
ok no more heros would help this. this is a game so not all of them are going to be great/wanting more powerful figs makes them in to super rare.more villans would help. better or more team abilities for them to
so there mine
1.joker and batman it has happen but in the last clix batman ae could be use
2.some more csa they been a tv and in a film come on
3.figs from aren comic the crisis set only put in monarch were this team.

Posted by: ikari on 10/6/2010 10:35:21 AM
elongated man...and no hes not the same as plastic man!

Posted by: CaptainAwesome on 10/5/2010 10:19:06 PM
I know this is mostly about DC clix but can I please get a good Cyclops that I can use in a game. Those last two were jokes, I mean come on he is the field leader of the X-Men. He should have something like a 12 attack and a 14 Def with range combat and leadership his whole dial. He should also maybe have the sharpshooter ability and a short dial since he really in the comics has no def powers. Another one that is in real need of an update is Sabertooh, how long has it been since we got a new one of him? To round out the weapon x project they also need to make a silver fox, they have made everyone else. As far as DC goes I would like to see a new Capt. Atom, Vixen, Clayface or Capt. Marvel on his own base.

Posted by: japete61 on 10/5/2010 9:38:55 PM
Definatly need a new Creeper and would like to see a new Captain Cold with the power. (Of course Mr.Freeze would need to get some of that as well.) But not real good with the other 3. NO! To same sculpts and we already had a remade Jay in Arkham. Better options (besides never made characters) would be Allen Scott, Lex Luther in a huge suit like the one in the trailer for DC online and as said Mr. Freeze with the same power as Captain Cold.

Posted by: Lord Logan on 10/5/2010 11:45:31 AM
Oh, and we DON'T need another KC Green Lantern. The old one was way to powerful.

Posted by: Owlman166 on 10/5/2010 11:06:44 AM
Her's three fig's I wanna see remade:

1. A duo Joker/Harley Quinn or duo Joker/Lex Luthor figure.
2. Owlman (CSA Version)
3. The Shade (w/Mystical and IL TA's)

P.S(greater than) Sorry The Le, but Bat Sentry IS BETTER than KC Batman! You DON'T give a 188 point character a starting 15 defense!?@#$% With no damage reducers!! He was/is in my oppinion, worst Batman ever made. Even the Experienced Hypertime batman is better. Sure, he can deal some decent damage with Outwit/Incapacitate/Stunning Blow, but with a 15 defense!? You gotta be kiddin' me... Not that KC Bat Sentry was great, but at least he had some damage reducers!

Posted by: Owlman166 on 10/5/2010 11:04:30 AM
The choices in the article were okay, but here are the ones I think are much more in need of remakes:

1) DEADSHOT - we need a new Deadshot with Sharpshooter and a special power comparable to the new Bullseye!
2) CATWOMAN - There hasn't been a Catwoman since Hypertime, and the BatB duo, Alpha and Unleashed mail-away versions don't count. She is in dire need of a remake!
3) BOOSTER GOLD - since Origins came out he's become a major player behind the scenes in the DCU. Give him some Probability Control and the Elseworlds team ability to reflect his recent partnership with Rip Hunter.
4) CAPTAIN ATOM - Last seen in Legacy, Capt. Atom's dial just drops away far too quickly for modern games. Give him some beefier numbers and a special power that simulates his radiation absorption ability.
5) STAR SAPPHIRE - the Star Sapphire from Crisis was overpriced for her dial and had no keywords! Since Blackest Night she's become a formidable presence in the Green Lantern books, so how about Indomitable and the "Violet Lantern" keyword?

Posted by: Wombatboy on 10/4/2010 8:20:43 PM
Thay already remade Jay Garrick in Arkham Asylum if i'm not mistaken

Posted by: Zack Ziarko on 10/4/2010 5:49:12 PM
Last paragraph got chopped!
Finally Ragman needs to be redone to reflect the true extent of the characters evolution of understanding the full extent of his powers. Not only can he travel anywhere the rags call to him then attack he can call upon the souls trapped in those rags to give him not just superstrength but indomitible endurance, not to mention the Perplexing advice they can give him or the intelligence to Outwit. Do we mention that those souls absorb alot of damage and even help him heal up especially when he makes a successful attack.
So that's what I think is overdue all active in current continuity so it's not as if they are just figures from years ago.

Posted by: David TG Riches on 10/4/2010 5:11:18 PM
Well top of my head I like that the John Stewart Green Lantern is being remade for DC 75th however I would like to see one reflect his time on Mosaic loaded with Indomitable, Perplex, Outwit, a dash of Regen & a dash of PC maybe a start of invincible then toughness to go with the alternating charge and running shot.
Still on the Green Lantern theme we could use an REV version of Kilowog to rep his early days as a GL trainer, his time on Earth as part of JLI without a ring and finally as his time today as an Emerald Warrior! I won't go into dial specifics just that Poozers will watch out for the superstrength and rare spots of Perplex and Outwit to represent the science and coaching background.
Red Tornado has had so many changes in recent years what with PriMortals, 52, and Young Justice not to mention his own Mini-series you could say he deserves some new REV treatment
especially since it would be so easy to make a generic like the WoS Symbiote.
Obsidian hasn't been touched since being introduced and it's high time that a character that could transport the team across the board then cause shadow attacks on everyone it wanted made a debut especially after some of the recent storylines in the JSA this is one kid who needs an all-powerful power up to reflect the true darkness this figure can bring. Imagine something with GL team symbol with LoS simultaneous attack from everyone on the team just transported? Then imagine minus one to mindcontrol attacks or falls under opponents control if adjacent to Jade or vice versa.
Do we mention that those souls absorb alot of d

Shiva definitely needs a remake. For the scariest martial arts lady in the DCU her current clix is sorely lacking. I'm with you on Black Canary, Huntress, and Oracle. Maybe a Zinda, or at least a Zina pog.

A Kingdom Come set would be nice to see. Because I have to agree, spacing them out over a couple of years or more sucks, and it would be nice to actually get everything instead of having to go without those one or two super rares that you never seem to get no matter how many bricks you buy.

Posted by: Nova00 on 10/4/2010 4:08:05 PM
Vixen, Huntress, Zatanna and Black Canary, all need to be remade with more powerful versions. Also Animal Man and Red Tornado could take a make-over

Posted by: Hectorunited on 10/4/2010 3:20:53 PM
Not sure if any of these our coming out in DC 75, but Catwoman, female Dove, and Huntress would be three of my most coveted. No new versions of any of them have been out since Hypertime. Adding Oracle with a more modern sculpt would be good to finishing a Birds of Prey team.

Current versions of Supergirl and Ravenger I would also like to see. Supergirl having the Justice League of America keyword. Also giving Ravenger the Teen Titans keywords would be a must.

For my favorite team the JLA: Vixen, Red Tornado, Elongated Man, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Atom, and a truely powerhouse Superman are all needed. All singles, not duos either.

But the main one I want isnt a reprint, hes the golden age Atom. He would complete the original JSA lineup. I would prefer him in the 1960's-1970's costume instead of his 1940's version. Never cared for that one. But he needs to be made.

Of your choices, KC GL would be great, but how much better could he be? The KC Bat Sentry while he was bad, KC Batman is far worst. He would need to be done first. But if they redo the KC figures, do them all at once. Not piece meal them over multiple sets or years.

Jay Garrick was just done in Arkham so I dont see him being redone. Captain Cold is a good choice. He has kind of been a forgotten villain recently.

Posted by: Nightwing-fan on 10/4/2010 1:15:43 PM
GOD YES..in fact "Ice Terrain" makes more sense and is more generic than Web Tokens

Posted by: Troma99 on 10/4/2010 10:08:12 AM
@Deadpool55: Oh come on! You really think KC Batman is WORSE than KC Bat Sentry? At least Batman can fly!

Posted by: The Le on 10/4/2010 9:20:21 AM
I agree about Captain Cold. He needs some love!
I'm not sure about the others, though. We have 2 great Jay Garricks, and I'm not sure the KC characters warrant more than one representation in clix.

Posted by: Nate on 10/4/2010 9:18:03 AM
A couple that I think should be remade badly from DC are;

1. Huntress - Come on, none since Hypertime!
2. Big Barda - Only in Unleashed, and not very good, she badly needs remaking too.
3. Ravager - Deathstroke's daughter needs some remake love!

Thanks,
rwint1968

We got a new Jay Flash in Arkham.

And having Bat Sentry on the list before KC Batman is criminal. KC Batman is TERRIBLE!!!
