HeroClix Jonah Hex06-02-2010 UPDATE: The Jonah Hex HeroClix mini set has been confirmed! See the details here!
------------------------------
Is Jonah Hex coming to HeroClix? It could be, depending on how you read the latest news from ICV2:
----------
NECA/WizKids has extended its license from Warner Bros. Consumer Products for DC HeroClix in a multi-year deal. The extension includes a number of additional DC HeroClix products for release in 2010 in addition to Watchmen (see “Watchmen HeroClix”), Blackest Night Starter Game (see “Blackest Night HeroClix”), and the previously released Brave and Bold (see “The Brave and the Bold”).

Three additional releases are now scheduled: Jonah Hex, based on the film, out soon; Brightest Day Action Pack, out in October, and the DC 75th Anniversary Set, out in November.

WizKids President Lax Chandra reported that sales on the company’s Brave & Bold set was 30% higher than the previous DC HeroClix release (during the Topps era).

----------

Our take? Having a Wild Western era HeroClix figure wouldn't be completely unprecedented as we do have Two-Gun kid, not to mention other oddities like Silver Samurai and Black Knight. The press release strongly links Jonah Hex in the same paragraph with other HeroClix games, but there is a slight possibility we may see Jonah Hex as stand-alone non-clix game (e.g Freddy vs Jason, Gremlins, etc). Heck, this could be part of a revival for HorrorClix (since Jonah Hex is all about the supernatural).

When there's more info, you can be sure that HeroClix World will be here to tell you about it!

Regardless, this is very good news for Wizkids, and we at HeroClix World are very excited. Have you seen the movie trailer yet?

He could be a promotional fig that they give out with movie ticket purchases. It says the action pack is the brightest day set so hex having his own is doubtful.

Johan Hex?

would this be considered CHEESE when used with modern heroes? Has there been a story arc where Jonah is in the modern universe. I know for a fact the Two Gun Kid, Black Night and Silver Samurai are all in the modern age.........tony

There already was one Jonah Hex HeroClix figure so seeing a newer version with Sharpshooter would be nice. Seeing a series of Jonah Hex figures spanning his career including his travels into the apocalyptic future would be Legendary! Oh I can see me playing Hex against Batman just like the comicbook.

Glad DC is on board with the clix. I was really not happy with Brave and the Bold. Understand you gotta try new dynamics but the overuse of the duo base is just not working for me. I am glad Jonah is coming out as a clix fig. I have the old one but he is not only tactically tough to deal with he is illegal in most formats now. It will be good to get some low power and different clix and the set has promise.

Vigilante doesn't count as western themed character? He is DC atleast. Two Gun Kid is a Marvel character. Plus like has been mentioned there is actually a Jonah Hex figure already.

I wonder if they will add Jonah Hex to a Classics Action Pack... I would love a Modern Age Jonah Hex. The CD figure is amazing and a member of the "Magic 47 Point Club". So even if we didn't get a full set of Hex characters, I hope we get at least a Classics remake.

And what fanboy wouldn't want Megan Fox in Clix form?

@Henk, Chances are that we'll get the same sculpt too.

I saw the notice, too, and was taking it to mean Jonah will be a Clix product, though you make a valid point. The timing seems odd, though, unless it's something they've been able to pull together VERY quickly and make a special, late solicitation for to the retailers. The film's out June 18th and depending on what follows it I'm not sure how long they expect it to remain in theaters.

It's not that we already have Two-Gun Kid, but Jonah Hex is also made into clix figure (Collateral Damage), so it isn't that big of a stretch to get a Jonah Hex action Pack.
