Green Lantern Trailer 2 WonderConDon't forget to check out our Green Lantern HeroClix Spoilers page!

Warner Brothers showed off some new Green Lantern clips this weekend at WonderCon. Four minutes of clips made it to the web, and I have to say it looks better than the God-Awful original trailer from last year.

That being said, there are still some problems with Green Lantern, but mostly because of the 3-D. It makes all the CG look like a pop-up book, something I am not a fan of at all -- It's not a deal breaker though.

I find it most interesting that the this new clip "trailer" almost completely removes the comedic elements of the original trailer, going for a more serious tone, as Green Lantern should be.

Compared to the first Green Lantern trailer, this is certainly an improvement, that's for sure. Below is the new trailer and original trailer for comparison (I actually want to see the movie this time). See it now before it gets pulled!

Your Comments:
CG is part of film history now.

A suit generated by a green energy ring probably wouldn't look like real cloth or latex anyway. It would probably look like weird condensed energy fibers, which is what the CG looks like. I feel the effects are appropriate so far. I can understand if people are nostalgic for the simpler comic suits though. :)

Also, the test of good story telling isn't solely stated in its visuals. We'll know if its good or not when everything comes together to create the story. Acting, presentation, writing etc. (those are what i'm more worried about.)

I'm not looking to be argumentative, just wanted to throw out some thoughts. You guys are awesome, and Thanks for the great site The Le.

I don't see how the movie looks like it stinks but when u use cgi for everything ya it's not gonna look real cuz it's not and when u put that much cgi in it of course not but it still looks like really good graphics and even coming from me, a person who doesn't like cgi compared to well done outfits

There's a lot of banner advertising on DC's site for this Thor movie from Marvel. Perhaps there's not as much animosity between the two publishers..?

Michael Clarke Duncan as Kilowog. Geoffrey Rush as Toma Re. Really suitable voices.

I maybe a MMM, Make Might Marvel, but more so I love the fact they are creating the movies. I would have loved as a kid, and now as a 52yr old kid I will go to whomever makes a superhero movie and enjoy the heck out of it!!!!!!1

Replace the main characters w/hot chicks and watch everyone fall all over themselves praising the movie. Will be a good movie if can get past CGI.

If this movie does well I hope it gets more exposure on this site than some of the other luke warm box office offerings. I hope it's more movie than preview!

That is indeed Hector Hammond. In Geoff Johns' reboot Secret Origin, he was a government scientist (aren't they always?), and an early competitor for Carol Ferris's love interest. He opens the engine core of Abin Sur's ship, and is exposed to some form of radition (fancy that, eh?) that mutates him into a very powerful telepath/TK'er. It appears with this extended spot, that Hector's the newbie villian (as "Rookie" as Hal is at this point), but an unleashed Parallax is the major villian (as Fear-a-saurus should be!). The actor is Peter Sarsgaard.

That was hector Hammod? i am unfamiliar with the character, but from what the movie looks like whoever it is has to be REALLY powerful to take on not one, but (at least what seems to be) the entire GLC.

anyone chime in on who he is what he does and stuff? or any confirmation on who it is?

Count me as totally geeked!

@ dittobeete: I seem to recall readingat some point that the script was story-arc'ed for a triology. We may get to SCW...

I love everything to do with the origin and the Corps, Sinestro, Tomar Re, etc. I'm not so thrilled about a climactic battle with Hector Hammond... I guess they're putting their chips on a sequel with Sinestro as the villain, already set-up.
