Dr Manhattan HeroClixWhat? HeroClix Charity Tournament
Where? Dragon's Lair (Austin TX)
When? April 29, 2011
Prize? Complete set of Giant Size X-Men LEs, DC Hardcover Dark Knight Returns (only 2000 made),  Dr. Manhattan HeroClixm, and more!

Howdy all!

I just want to give you a teaser for a very special upcoming tournament we will be having on Friday, April 29th! On that day we will be holding our first every Heroclix Charity Event benefiting the Austin Children's Shelter! The Austin Children's Shelter offers a safe haven for children and youth who are in crisis. Their mission is to reduce children's emotional trauma by providing services and quality care in a safe and nurturing environment where each child and young adult can begin to heal after being abused.

Money raised from this event will go to buying the kids there comic books and other reading materials. I recently spoke to the Executive Director of the Shelter and she told me that comic books are a perfect way to help the kids as they get read and reread over and over again. She told me that most of the kids there had never even seen a comic book! Imagine that, a childhood without ever seeing a comic book!

So here's the deal, Dragon's Lair will be hosting the tournament at our regular time on Friday, April 29th. There will be a $10.00 buy-in that all goes to the charity. Additionally, we will have a special fund that allows you to buy a reroll (for you or your opponent) for $1.00. Spectators can also make you reroll for a buck! Again, all that money goes to charity.

So what's in it for you besides helping a bunch of kids who need a hero? First, everyone who participates will have a chance to win the new colossal Dr. Manhattan courtesy of Dragon's Lair. Additionally, First Prize will be a complete set of all Giant Size X-Men LEs. We're lining up additional prizes which now includes a rare DC hardcover edition of the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel (only 2000 made), statues, custom maps, and great mods from HavokTX, Hulon Prime, and more!

The tournament will be a 300 point, Modern Age tournament with 3 actions. All maps are legal for this tournament.

Spread the word, we want maximum participation for this event! If you have something you want to donate as a prize, or have other questions about this event, please send them to Blue Atoll at mwbmc@yahoo.com

Here's hoping you'll be there on April 29th!

Your Comments:
Thanks for the clarification! Fromn the description I just wasn't sure if the prize was the older E-Z Heroes set they did in 2007 or the newer Capital City set from 2010.

@Wombatboy: Fat Dragon Games offers many 3D terrain, but only a few of them are HeroClix compatible. For this particular prize, Fat Dragon Games is giving away CAPITAL CITY to 12 lucky winners. CAPITAL CITY is considered "3D Terrain".

The prize list says 12 winners will receive the EZ Heroes set of 3D terrain from Fat Dragon Games, but the picture shown is for the FDG Capital City set instead! Which is correct?

Not in the area but a great raffle donation idea folks. Less then a booster cost. Hopefully they take paypal or something will find out.
