Watchmen Sweepstakes

HeroClix WatchmenAt HeroClix World we live by a few different philosophies. One philosophy is to always do what’s best for our loyal readers. After all, they’re the ones that make this place the best site out there for HeroClix content. Another philosophy we subscribe to is to pay it forward.

Today we’re happy to announce the Watchmen Sweepstakes! Recently we were given a copy of the Watchmen set for review purposes -- now that those reviews are done, we’re giving it away!

That’s right, we’re breaking down the set and giving away each figure to 25 loyal readers! (we're going to keep the box though)

How do you enter? Well that’s easy, just sign up for our Free Email Subscription (here). You only need to sign up once (duplicate entries are ignored, so there’s no need to try and milk the system). Note that if you’ve already been receiving our HeroClix World Emails, then you don’t need to do anything because you’re already entered!

HeroClix Dr ManhattanWinners can expect to receive their Watchmen figures in early August, well before the official August 25th release date.

This Sweepstake is available to US and CANADA residents only (sorry).

This Sweepstake lasts until Saturday July 31st, so don’t wait… Enter Now!

Live Long and Be Fabulous!

-The Le, owner of HeroClix World

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
@Fliman: I will contact the winners next week via email. Once they have verified their address as US/CAN, I'll pack up the figure and prepare to send it. Winners are selected from the pool of subscribers, via an automated randomizer program I wrote.

@bretsports2:
I built HeroClix World from the ground up with these two ideas:
(1) Posting comments should not require a login
(2) The site should always be free

Both ideas have been executed well, so I don't plan on changing the format. HeroClix World will always remain free, posting comments won't require a login, and I won't be asking my readers for donations.

@Fliman: If you have a US P.O.Box, that is fine. I am using the US Postal system for all mailings.

@Oliver: Figures will be sent in the next couple weeks once I confirm the winner's addresses and pack it up. Winners will recieve the figure and the character card that goes with it.

@Dyspro: Thanks for the compliment. I do love that Artic Nite Owl, but I believe this is an all or nothing deal. I'm giving all the figures away.

@Ouchmaker: I am sorry that we are making this US/CAN only. The cost of shipping is not my concern at all; the last sweepstakes I ran was world-wide. One of the packages (Indonesia) took 3 months to bounce back to me, and another 2 months after that to get it to the right destination. Since I'm sending so many packages this time around, I decided to keep it in the US/CAN only to limit potential shipping issues. I'll make you a promise right now though -- I'm already thinking about the next sweepstakes, which I'll make world-wide.

Your Comments:
Woot! My Bubastis arrived today! He'll make a nice sidekick for Animal Man, Kraven, or Howard the Duck some day. Thanks! This was a very generous contest!

Got my Mask-killer in the mail today!!! Thanks Le you rock!

Posted by: Jowzam on 8/17/2010 1:50:35 PM
There were half a dozen people who didn't respond within 7 days, so new winners will be contacted soon.

Posted by: The Le on 8/9/2010 9:41:06 PM
Hey, since some people didn't answer send me their figures! :D

Posted by: Fliman on 8/9/2010 4:10:09 PM
Then pick from other places :D

Posted by: Fliman on 8/5/2010 4:56:01 PM
Yes, I picked the winners Saturday evening, and have begun contacting them. Winners have 7 days to respond, or else I will pick a new winner. So far I'm a little shocked at the number of winners I'm getting from Canada, eh!

Posted by: The Le on 8/5/2010 1:52:28 AM
Did you already pick the winners?

Posted by: Fliman on 8/4/2010 11:45:28 AM
This is a great idea! I hope I get the Nite Owl character. I would like to say to all you Heroclix readers, by the way, that if you guys like Heroclix reviews of characters, check out The Le's and RuoroniKJS reviews at pojos heroclix website. It's really neat.

Posted by: Owlman166 on 8/3/2010 6:05:04 PM
and what if the address we provide is an US address?
does it matter if we do not live in the US?

Posted by: as_bat on 8/3/2010 1:34:34 PM
Thank you very much!

Posted by: Fliman on 7/29/2010 11:30:50 AM
This is all kinds of awesome!

Posted by: SilverSpider on 7/28/2010 7:52:00 PM
Excellent idea!

Posted by: Razzed1 on 7/28/2010 12:19:31 AM
you rock !!!!!

Posted by: lopes on 7/27/2010 2:16:31 PM
KOOOOL!!!!

Posted by: Lord Logan on 7/27/2010 11:20:08 AM
Thank you, your Awesomeness!

Posted by: Ianator on 7/27/2010 6:05:11 AM
This has become my favorite site for all heroclix related material
thank you and keep up the good work

Posted by: Mick on 7/27/2010 5:32:15 AM
@Ianator: that is correct. I considered giving the entire set to just one person, but I'd rather make 25 people happy with an exclusive figure rather than 1 person super happy with an exclusive set. Shipping costs are going to be higher this way, but I don't mind... my readers are worth it!

Posted by: The Le on 7/26/2010 10:18:35 PM
Just making sure everyone is on the same page... The Le is giving out 1 heroclix figure to 25 of his subscribers. Not the whole set of 25 figures to one subscriber. Still very thankful and thank you.

Posted by: Ianator on 7/26/2010 9:36:50 PM
Another doubt, will you contact the winners through email to obtain their address? and how will the winners be determined? Thanks!

Posted by: Fliman on 7/26/2010 9:16:10 PM
Wow. This is very cool and very generous of you. Good luck to everyone!

Posted by: PatMan668 on 7/26/2010 8:19:58 PM
i know it's not the right place where to ask this question but are the heroclix classics 3 models packs involving the marvel and dc chars already on sale? or they will be on sale in fall? i'm talking about the ones with supes, bats, the xplosion ironman figure that were shown in an old post as photos

Posted by: Aquarius on 7/26/2010 8:02:10 PM
I;m flattered. Thank you very much for this opprotunity (Yes I live in the U.S. ^__^). And thank you for all you do on this website, which I've always thought was the best clix site on the web. I talk to my friends about your site because I enjoy it so much. In fact I haven't ruled out forwarding this email to my friends so they can enjoy a chance at your sweepstakes and content. Again thank you for making the internet a better place.

I have a question, what if we're not from the US but we do have a PoBox in the US?

Posted by: Fliman on 7/26/2010 6:35:26 PM
Very generous, thanks.

There may be fans of the Watchmen who aren't HeroClix players. This is a great way to bring more attention to the product as well as the ever expanding Clix community. It is people like you that will ensure that HeroClix will continue to endure.

Well Done!

Posted by: Andy on 7/26/2010 4:57:01 PM

Posted by: inspired stranger on 7/26/2010 12:20:06 PM
Thanks The LE. Hope this increases your readership to keep you going! You may want to have a "donation drive" too. I'm sure it's not cheap keeping this site going.

Posted by: bretsports2 on 7/26/2010 12:09:21 PM
Very nice, The Le and HeroClix World -- you guys continue to remain classy and continue to do great things for the online Clix community.

Posted by: WolvieFan9 on 7/26/2010 11:32:53 AM
Awesome!! I wasn't going to be able to afford one of these babies: here's hopin'!

Posted by: Troma99 on 7/26/2010 10:51:22 AM
Well that's pretty cool of you! That's part of the reason I have followed this site in the past. You always have fresh ideas for your feats and scenarios (yay, Sentinels!) and the attitude that exudes from this site is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the gimme folks you find on the internet.

Live Long and Be Fabulous, indeed!

But I wanted to win the empty box ....

:)

Great way to handle comped materials!

Posted by: Lofcutus on 7/26/2010 10:19:56 AM
Woot, sweet. Hope I get either of the Manhattans or Rorshack

Posted by: Puuka on 7/26/2010 9:54:56 AM
Heey!!! what about Central America, here in Costa Rica we always have delays on the delivery of the new products released, the prices for tournaments are always late also, and now...we cannot participate...this is just great!!! :(

Posted by: JasonCR on 7/26/2010 9:36:04 AM
Thanks! i hope i win it! cause it usually takes up to 4 weeks before i get my Clix here in Singapore :(

Posted by: Eddie on 7/26/2010 8:28:40 AM
it's sad to see everything is always and only u.s. and canada.
in europe we never had supes robot, we didn't get a hammer of thor war machine we receive way less buy the briuck models than the sent ones and all.
i wonder does europe exist?

Posted by: Aquarius on 7/26/2010 6:55:29 AM
That is really great of you. I appreciate the chance to win!

Posted by: chrisclixer on 7/26/2010 6:55:21 AM
Wow, cool contest. :) I you only knew how often I drag my son over so we can look at the latest on this site or how often I hit the rules section for a confirmation of a ruling.

Thanks for all you do.

Posted by: ninthdoc on 7/26/2010 4:54:37 AM

You are quite the gentleman. Hope I win, but if not, the very thought of winning made my day.

Posted by: tylerdrake on 7/26/2010 1:32:10 AM

You D' man! Thanks The Le :-)-

Posted by: Ianator on 7/26/2010 1:04:44 AM
Shame about the US and Canada residents only thing, probably won't be buying this myself. Would pay for the shipping if that's the thing that's stopping us Europeans from entering.

Good luck to all contestants anyways.

Posted by: Ouchmaker on 7/26/2010 1:00:34 AM
it would be really cool to win something
