05-04-2010 UPDATE: We have confirmation that the Blackest Night release date has been pushed back to June 9th 2010. Please plan accordingly and get your pre-orders in!

On 11/26/09, this message appeared on the Wizkids webpage: "The new DC Starter hits in May 2010 – Our most colorful take on a starter to date"

On 01/07/10, this image appeared on the Wizkids front page. This is clearly a teaser for the new DC Starter Set coming out in May.

HeroClix DC Starter Blackest Night

Remind you of anything?
HeroClix Blackest Knight

If you want to know what "All Will be Well" means, here's a clue for you:
HeroClix DC Starter Blackest Night

From Wikipedia:
HeroClix Blackest Night Blue LanternAll Blue Lanterns are armed with a blue power ring, fueled by the emotion hope. Geoff Johns stated on ComicBloc that "the Blue Lanterns are the most powerful Lanterns...but there's a catch to it all..." Blue Lanterns must be near an active Green Lantern's power ring to tap into their own rings' full power. Otherwise, the rings are only capable of the default abilities of flight and the generation of a protective aura. This flaw is a result of the fact that the power of hope is nothing without the willpower to enact it. Blue rings must be fueled by true hope in order to operate at their user's command. For instance, when Hal Jordan hopes for world peace in an attempt to make his ring work, it detects his insincerity and remains uncooperative.

While under the influence of a nearby green power ring, Blue Lanterns have the ability to heal wounds. The ring's power can be supplemented with the hope of other living beings; for instance, Saint Walker and Warth were able to reduce a dying sun's age by 8.6 billion years because of the hope emanating from the inhabitants of a nearby planet. A blue ring can negatively impact the performance of rings on the opposite side of the emotional spectrum. It can neutralize the corruptive effects of red power rings, block the energy-stealing properties of orange rings, and drain the power of yellow power rings. Conversely, a blue ring can charge a green power ring to twice its maximum power level. This effect can also negatively impact a green ring, as close proximity to the blue central power battery will overcharge a green ring, causing it to implode (taking the user's hand with it). Blue power rings manifest their constructs by reading the target's psyche. For instance, when John Stewart attempts to apprehend Saint Walker out of anger, Walker's ring causes Stewart to see himself flying with his late wife (Katma Tui) in order to calm his rage. Geoff Johns also confirmed that blue rings grant precognitive visions to their wielders.

I know Hal Jordan kissed a violet lantern but im not sure if it was Carol Ferris so was it her or someone else hopefully not a man ha ha ha

Posted by: morgan smith on 12/31/2011 2:29:21 PM
well i would like more lantern corps. the big barda and the mister miracle green lantern duo was super rare the star sapphire is rare the sinestro corps batman is limited editon so a heroclix booster set of the lanterns would be great.(i am lucky i got the ones on there but not the batman one)

Posted by: ikari on 6/23/2010 9:14:19 AM
wonder woman is by far the best in the set, but the atom is the coolest

Posted by: g110 on 6/20/2010 11:25:48 AM
Green lantern was a bit small compared to all the others.

I fixed my Mera and was able to painstakingly glue her back to her puke last night... So I'm checking out the Blackest Night figures again today to admire the sculpt and while I was picking them up all together, I accidentally dropped Mera and guess what happened? Grrrrr!

Posted by: Ianator on 6/11/2010 3:17:47 AM
@ Brendan - Yours broke too? Let me guess... by the mouth?
First of all I think the sculpts are magnificent! Truly, digital sculpts are the future for our beloved game. Unfortunately I have some issues and concerns...
1. Packaging - The figs fit so snug that you would have to be extra careful in pulling them out of their plastic housing. I was extremely careful and yet, Mera broke from the mouth... I was able to glue her back, but it was ackward having to shove the red ooze in her mouth and getting her left hand to stick to it too. Please get your head out of the gutter, LOL
2. The dial - was really stiff, I thought I would break more figure trying to turn them... it would have been nice to have the bottom part turn with these delicate yet magnificent works of art. Or I should say, digital technology.
3. Quantity - Their was only 7... where's the rest of the Lantern Corps... we want more... LOL!

Great job Wizkids/Neca (WECA?) Keep up the good work... (translation) More digital scuplts in the future ;-)

Posted by: Ianator on 6/10/2010 6:16:01 PM
I got mine yestrday and I wept at how good the sculps are. I am already a huge fan of the digital sculpting. That said, my Mera did break and was also a very large pain to fix.

Posted by: Brendan on 6/10/2010 1:03:52 PM
ALL IS WELL!!! Got mine this morning... to my surprise I had two reserved for me, fully paid! The owner saw how astonished I was and mentioned that I could just take one if I wanted... I was tempted to take both, since they looked awesome... yep, digital sculpt is the future! But I settled to get store credit for future sets coming up... sigh... I mean, woohoo! PG!

Posted by: Ianator on 6/9/2010 6:54:17 PM
Be VERY careful when taking your figures out, especially Mera. I broke mine, and shes a bitch to repair. You should remove the plastic from around the figure rather then pulling the piece out. For some reason I thought they would be a little bigger.
Also the map is awesome, but very confusing, I will be looking for some clarification.........tony

I am so super pumped about this set, can't wait to get Scarecrow into my Sinestro Corp. Army

Posted by: Swidish on 6/8/2010 7:53:35 PM
There are only 7 figures in this set, but already I like better than Brave and the Bold. I cannot wait to break open this bad boy.

Posted by: Brendan on 6/8/2010 1:30:35 PM
9 days to go...

Posted by: ecchs on 5/31/2010 10:34:32 PM
So sick of Hal. I would love a new cheap Kyle.

6-09-10 ALL IS NOT WELL :-(

What? Pushed back... Delayed? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Posted by: Ianator on 5/4/2010 5:18:56 PM
I really like the GL dial - gets stronger when pushed is appropriate

Posted by: tylerdrake on 4/22/2010 11:35:07 AM
hey question i pulled a batman & green arrow in a booster the other day and it was missing green arrows arm anyone know if i can send it somewhere to get a new one or am i stuck with this one??

Posted by: casey70 on 4/22/2010 10:36:45 AM
Cannot wait for this to come out. Alot of awesome sculpts.

Posted by: Geminimerc on 3/1/2010 2:58:53 AM
Scarecrow is the best sculpt. I really can't wait!

Posted by: Lord Logan on 2/19/2010 10:40:49 AM
i love the entire set although i do agree about wonder womans face it looks a little wierd, i think the lex luthor is the best figure sculpt from the set personally.

Posted by: chris mercer on 2/9/2010 12:28:54 PM
Yeah, looks like she's about to sing Opera, Valkyrie style. It's normaly her best feature in my POV.

Posted by: theflash? on 2/9/2010 12:08:37 PM
Geeeez, look at her face. all the others have been great. this one...hmmm. hope they re-do her features.

Posted by: neilr on 2/9/2010 11:53:29 AM
The sculpts look awesome !

Posted by: Tchalla62 on 2/7/2010 4:01:59 PM
The short dial combined with that high cost ( 140 pts ) makes this Flash a difficult choice when it comes to team building .

Posted by: Tchalla62 on 2/7/2010 3:57:04 PM
The only thing I'm not liking is the number of what click you are on being visible (red number right about the damage slot). It gives your opponent too much of an advantage to see how close you are to KO's. We'll see.
The figs look outstanding though. Very, very impressed with the starter set.

Posted by: Bretsports2 on 2/5/2010 5:06:02 PM
I question the model for the flash and mera seeing as i think they'll have trouble staying up without help. Seems to me the model weight is completely unbalanced. Just like Gravity or Geoforce that always topple over.

Posted by: the flash? on 2/5/2010 3:46:14 PM
This is the figure I have been waiting for. He is my namesake. I have been hoping for a Scarecrow remake and was very disappointed there was not one in AA. He looks very cool and I hope he has a great dial to go with it.

Posted by: scarecrow78 on 2/4/2010 7:47:05 PM
the figures for this mini set just keep getting better and better i hope they still have something to top the scarecrow

Posted by: chris mercer on 2/4/2010 2:04:46 PM
Are there no Black Lanterns in this set?

Posted by: Zack on 2/4/2010 11:40:50 AM
so far, I think these are some of the best sculptS since fantasic forces. keep it coming. I'll be playing just as a fan of both the game and the story!

Posted by: bgreyloc on 2/3/2010 6:28:14 PM
I don't like this figures a lot they look a little childish/cartoonish compared to other figures...

Posted by: fliman on 2/3/2010 11:05:40 AM
I'm really impressed with the sculpts on Hal and Mera. I hope they look as good, if not better, in person

Posted by: Bennett on 2/2/2010 11:11:18 PM
this green lantern is officially awesome looking im not i big fan of DC and i like Marvel more but this guy is just amazing looking i don't think i've ever seen such a sweet looking heroclix

Posted by: Chris Mercer on 2/2/2010 12:11:33 AM
It could be the temps from BN #6
Red = Mera
Orange = Lex Luthor
Yellow = Scarecrow
Green = Ganthet
Blue = Flash (Barry Allen)
Indio = Atom (Ray Palmer)
Violet = Wonder Woman

Talk about a curve to throw.

Posted by: ChuckP on 1/24/2010 4:30:07 PM
First off I would like to say Blachestnight is a great title and is going to be a great set in heroclix , starter and booster set . To say the least I would like to see a new hal and sinestro , did not realy like the ones in crisis ! Also I would like to see atrocitus , agent orange , female inigo 1 , saint walker or warth , fatality as saphire and let us not forget about black after all that is what the story is all about , so I would like to see either blackhand or earth 2 superman . So that is your pics ? ps if not hal, john will do and if not sinestro , parallax will do , as long as it is kyle , although green lantern # 50 hal does become parallax once again so who knows !

Posted by: RobertT on 1/12/2010 7:41:38 PM
I just hope that whoever they make, their all playable. I dont really want another version of Hal & Sinestro since we just got them in Crisis. John Stewart or Soranik Natu would be good for the green lantern. Not sure about a yellow lantern besides Mongul. I do hope we get a much better version of Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire then the 1960's one that was in crisis. Larfreeze, Atrocitus, Saint Walker, Indigo-1 would all be fine with me. But I'm just looking forward to it. DC is the best, heroclix or comics.

Posted by: ChuckM on 1/12/2010 1:21:45 PM
I hope they do some different ones than Hal, Sinestro, Kyle and Carol, they were all in Crisis after all.

Posted by: Neilr on 1/12/2010 11:35:52 AM
Think about the Wizkids philosophy that every set is someone's first set. Also, starters have traditionally had well-known characters in them to encourage new players and non-player/collectors-and open up slots in the regular sets. My get feeling is that the starter will be comprised of the new rainbow lanterns shown for the first time at the end of Blackest Night 6(if you've read it, then you know who I mean; don't want to spoil the suprise for those who haven't read it yet). Also, check out the teaser 'post-it note' ad in Game Trader this month from Wizkids, which includes more hints, such as 'make the 8th one free'-Zomibe Bats, maybe?

Posted by: Tirillian on 1/9/2010 3:06:11 PM
If I had to guess who the characters will be, I'd say 1. Atrocitus (Red), 2. Larfleze/"Agent Orange" (Orange), 3. Sinestro (Yellow), 4. Hal Jordan (Green), 5. Saint Walker (Blue), 6. ??Indigo Tribe member?? (Indigo), and 7. Carol Ferris/Star Saphire (Violet). If Hal Jordan's already in the B&B set list then I'd say either Kyle Rayner or John Stewart for Green.

Posted by: Rwpos on 1/9/2010 12:28:23 AM
This will be awesome, can't wait. who do you think the characters will be?
